Rice Owls head coach Greg Williams has been very straightforward to me this season after every game -- wins and losses.
Thursday night was no different.
Rice was defeated by the UAB Blazers 79 to 66. The final margin does not describe how thorough UAB's victory was Thursday night. UAB shot 48.4% (30 for 62) from the field for the game. Sixteen made baskets came from lay-ups.
With the loss, Rice's record is now 9-6 in Conference USA with just one more regular season game remaining -- Saturday, February 24, at 5pm, versus Memphis.
