Max Fiedler Named Second Team Preseason All-AAC

Fifth-year senior Max Fiedler earned his second preseason honor of the year, having been named Second Team Preseason All-American Athletic Conference, the league office announced Monday morning.

Fiedler was also named First Team Preseason All-AAC by the Almanac.

As Second Team All-Conference USA selection, Fiedler was the first Division 1 player in the last 30 years to average at least 11.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists and connect on 73.5% from the floor. He became the first player in school history with 1,000 career points, 800 rebounds and 400 assists as well as the first player with three straight seasons of 300 points, 200 rebounds and 100 assists. His 73.5% field goal percentage set the Rice and C-USA single-season records. He led C-USA in assists, assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1), and offensive rebounds (3.1), was fourth in rebounds, eighth in blocks (1.1), and 13th in minutes played (30.4).
