VMI's Travis Evee transfers to Rice

Travis Evee has decided to transfer to Rice University and hoop for Head Coach Scott Pera and Rice Owls' men's basketball.

Evee entered the NCAA Transfer Portal March 30th.
Evee, 6'0", 165, attended Virginia Military Institute (VMI) this past season. He averaged 12.6 points, 2.4 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game for the Keydets as a freshman this season.
Evee started 22 of 33 games for VMI this season and shot 44.1 fg% (143 of 324) -- including 36.2 3pt% (77 of 213) -- and 80.3 ft% (53 of 66).
He was named Southern Conference Freshman of the Year by the media and shared SoCon Freshman of the Year honors as voted by the SoCon coaches.
He scored a season-high 26 points December 4th on the road against Duquesne. Evee made a season-high 6 three-pointers January 4th versus Samford. He handed out a season-high 6 assists February 29th at Samford.
Evee will sit out the 2020-'21 season and have three seasons of college eligibility remaining.
