Rice's Trey Murphy III and Josh Parrish enter NCAA Transfer Portal

Two Rice Owls entered the NCAA Transfer Portal the last two days: sophomore guard Trey Murphy III, 6'8", 200, entered the portal Saturday; and, small forward Josh Parrish, 6'4", 215, grad transfer, entered the Transfer Portal Friday, March 27.
Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Cincinnati, DePaul, Iowa State, Stanford, Texas, Wichita State, and Xavier have contacted Murphy.
Murphy averaged 13.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for the Owls in 2019-'20. He shot 43.4% from the floor including 36.8% (75 for 204) from three-point range.
He scored a season-high 25 points November 12th against Northwestern State. Murphy made a season-high 6 three-pointers at La Tech on January 16; and, he pulled down a season-high 10 rebounds at North Texas on January 20.

In 19.6 minutes per game, Parrish averaged 7.5 points and 3.6 rebounds for the Owls. He shot a school-record 63.8% (97 for 152) from the floor. Parrish took 1 three-point shot all season. He scored a career-high 21 points at Middle Tennessee on February 8 and recorded his first career double-double at UTEP (2/22) with 11 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
Parrish attend TCU his freshman season before transferring to Rice. He sat out the 2017-'18 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
