Posted: August 13, 2026 -- 6:52 p.m. CT
The Houston Rockets today announced their schedule for the 2026-27 season. Standard tipoff times for Rockets home games have shifted from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Red Rush 90, a 90-minute pregame experience which launched during the playoffs last season, has been expanded to include all home games. During the 90 minutes from when doors open until tipoff, fans wearing their favorite Rockets gear can enjoy 50% off Michelob ULTRA and domestic beers, all Pepsi products, hot dogs, popcorn and pretzels.
As previously announced, the Rockets will play a pair of preseason games in Macao against the Dallas Mavericks on Oct. 9 and Oct. 11 as part of The NBA China Games 2026. The Rockets last played overseas in Japan during the 2019 preseason, while their most recent visit to China came during the 2016 preseason. Houston closes out the preseason at home vs. Oklahoma City on Oct. 15.
Houston has 21 regular season games slated for national television this season, including five on Amazon Prime, five on ESPN, nine on NBC/Peacock and two on Peacock. Space City Home Network and SCHN+ will carry every preseason game and all scheduled regular season games, except for nine that are designated as exclusive national broadcasts. Each game will also be available on Rockets radio broadcast partners, SportsTalk 790 KBME and NewsRadio 740 KTRH.
Opening Night presented by Toyota is vs. Dallas on Oct. 21, followed by a game against San Antonio at Moody Center in Austin on Oct. 23. The Rockets have four Emirates NBA Cup Group Play games at Dallas on Oct. 30, vs. Utah on Nov. 13, at Denver on Nov. 20 and vs. Phoenix on Nov. 25.
Pending the outcome of Emirates NBA Cup Group Play, Houston currently has 15 of its first 25 games at Toyota Center through Dec. 16, including a season high-tying five straight from Nov. 23-Dec. 1. Early season home highlights include Oklahoma City on Oct. 31, Boston on Nov. 2, Golden State on Nov. 11, Philadelphia on Nov. 28, the Los Angeles Lakers on Nov. 30 and New York on Dec. 14.
From Dec. 18 through the All-Star break, Houston will play 20 of 32 games on the road, including a season-high five in a row from Jan. 18-26. The Rockets have another five-game homestand coming out of the All-Star break before playing nine of 13 games on the road from March 7-31. Four of Houston's final five regular season games are at Toyota Center, including Fan Appreciation Night presented by Toyota against Portland on April 9.
The Rockets have 14 sets of back-to-back games this season, including four with both games at home and one with both games in Portland. Nearly half of Houston's scheduled home games are on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
