POSTED: September 7, 2020 -- 7:40 p.m. CT

Monday evening, Robbie Armbrester, 6'5" forward from Georgia, announced his decision to attend the University of Houston and play college basketball for Head Coach Kelvin Sampson and the Coogs.

Armbrester is a physical basketball player; and, he likes to play defense. He patterns his game after NBA players Kawhi Leonard and Draymond Green. Based on footage I saw earlier today, Robbie talks a lot on the court similar to Draymond.

Robbie's skillset is evolving. He's listed as a power forward / small forward in high school; however, he's developing his ball handling and perimeter shooting skills.

Armbrester chose Houston over UAB, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Xavier and a few other schools.

Armbrester is Houston's second commitment from the Class of 2021. May 20th, Ramon Walker, the top boys high school player in Greater Houston in the Class of 2021, chose the Coogs.

Sunday afternoon, Michael Thomas , juco guard from Kilgore, announced his decision to de-commit from Houston and re-open his recruiting.
