Houston Cougars Men's Basketball ranked 7th in Week 3 AP Poll; 8th in USA Today Coaches Poll

After a 77-67 win Saturday evening over South Carolina to improve to 4-0 this season, the Houston Cougars Men's Basketball program is ranked 7th in the Week 3 of the Associated Press poll and 8th in the December 7th USA Today Coaches Poll.
The Cougars received 1090 points -- an increase of 141 points -- compared to the 949 points Houston received in the Week 2 AP poll.
The 7th place ranking is Houston's highest AP ranking since finishing at No 5 in final poll of the 1983-84 season.
During the 2018-19 season, the Coogs appeared in the AP Top 10 for three straight weeks, eventually finishing ranked 11th, after advancing to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for the first time since 1984.

The Coogs received 529 points and moved up 10 spots to 8th in the December 7th USA Today Coaches Poll. Houston was ranked 17th in the USA Today Preseason Coaches Poll which was released November 12th. Houston received 203 points in that poll.
Houston's next game will be Wednesday, December 9th, versus Sam Houston State, inside Fertitta Center. Tip time is scheduled for 7 p.m. ESPN+ will broadcast / stream the game. Click HERE to get ESPN+.
