Toby Bailey Traded to PhoenixJune 24, 1998
"Bailey goes to Suns"
The LA Lakers traded the draft rights to G Toby Bailey (45th overall) to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for future considerations.
Note:
Who got the better of the deal?
Phoenix.
Why?
Bailey gives the Suns something for nothing. He has to make the roster; but, if he does, hes a 4 year college player who is athletic, a good passer and defender, and loves to play in the transition game. He could back up G Rex Chapman who wants to re-sign with the Suns.
The Lakers have enough Bailey type players with Eddie Jones, Kobe Bryant, and draft picks Sam Jacobson, and Ruben Patterson. Bailey wont be missed.
