Rice freshman Aniah Alexis earned her second conference honor of the season after being named American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Alexis added another strong week to her freshman campaign, netting a career-high 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting on the road against South Florida. Her nine made baskets was also a career high and she also finished with six rebounds and four assists.
She followed that game with another double-digit performance with 11 points, three assists and two rebounds on the road against Wichita State.
The Owls (12-13) return home to Tudor Fieldhouse Tuesday night to face Florida Atlantic.
