Rice's Nancy Mulkey Named C-USA Co-Player of the Week
Posted: February 15, 2021 -- 12:58 p.m. CT
Rice women's basketball senior center Nancy Mulkey was named the Conference USA Co-Player of the Week (with Charlotte's Octavia Jett-Wilson) after helping lead Rice to a pair of wins in the team's return to action this past weekend.
Following a 27-day team-wide layoff, Mulkey averaged 19 points while shooting 68 percent from the field to go along with 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 blocks in a pair of wins over the WKU Lady Toppers.
On Friday, Mulkey nearly recorded her second career triple double by posting a third straight contest with 20 or more points (22) to go along with 10 rebounds and a season-high eight blocks. Mulkey was nearly perfect from the field, making 10-of-12 shot attempts in Rice's 64-55 victory.

Mulkey, who is a Top-10 candidate on the Lisa Leslie Award watch list, ranks third in the NCAA in field goal percentage (62.2) and is fourth in the country blocked shots per game (3.38).
Rice (12-1, 8-0) will be back in action this weekend, February 19-20, when they travel to Huntington, West Virginia, to face the Marshall Thundering Herd.
