Erica Ogwumike Repeats as C-USA Female Athlete of the Year

Tuesday, June 30, Conference USA announced Rice University women's basketball graduate Erica Ogwumike became the first athlete in league history to earn back-to-back Female Conference USA Athlete of the Year awards.
In addition, Ogwumike became just the second athlete to win multiple C-USA Athlete of the Year awards since the award was established in 2003, joining UTEP's Anthony Rotich (track & field, 2013-15).

Ogwumike earned WBCA All-American honorable mention honors and became the fifth player in league history to win consecutive C-USA Player of the Year awards.
A C-USA First Team selectee for a third straight year, Ogwumike earned a spot on the C-USA All-Defensive Team and was named C-USA Player of the Week a league-high four times. She led all of C-USA in scoring (19.0 ppg), free throws made (149), and defensive rebounds per game (7.7 rpg). Ogwumike was also second in the league in double-doubles (13) and total points (513).
