Home games versus top-25 program Texas A&M plus match-ups against Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M highlight part of the 2019-20 Rice Owls Women's Basketball schedule, announced Friday morning by the Rice Owls Women's Basketball Program. Rice's 2019-'20 schedule also includes a December trip to Puerto Rico versus Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech of the ACC.

The Owls' non-conference slate is highlighted by a home meeting against 2019 Sweet 16 participant Texas A&M on Sunday, November 17, the first time Rice will host the Aggies at Tudor Fieldhouse since 2010. In addition, Rice will partake in the 2019 Puerto Rico Classic marking the program's first-ever regular season games outside the continental United States, facing both Virginia Tech (December 20) and Georgia Tech (December 21). Rice will officially open the 2019-20 season on Tuesday, November 5 with a home matchup against Nicholls State. Rice then hosts Little Rock on Saturday, November 9, a season after which the Trojans won 21 games and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Rice begins Conference USA play against Marshall in Tudor Fieldhouse on Thursday, January 2 before hosting WKU in a C-USA Semifinals rematch on Saturday, January 4.

For the first time in C-USA women's basketball, the final four games of the C-USA regular season are to be determined by the most competitive matchups coupled with geographical constraints. The teams will be divided into two groups of five (teams 1-5 and 6-10) and a group of four (11-14). During the final three weeks, teams will play within their respective grouping for the last four games of conference play. Home and away games within the groups will be determined by a preset formula. The game dates are set (February 22, February 27, March 1, March 4, and March 7) with one date being a bye.

The Conference USA Tournament will be held March 11-14 at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco. North Texas will host the tournament for the third straight year.

Last season was one for the record books for the Owls, reeling off a school record 28 wins while sweeping both the C-USA regular season (16-0) and conference tournament. The Owls, who climbed as high as No. 21 in the AP Top-25 Poll, advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 14 years under C-USA Coach of the Year Tina Langley and established a program record with 21 consecutive wins along the way.
