Rice Men's Basketball to Face Southern Miss in C-USA Tournament

Rice is the West Division sixth seed in next week's Conference USA Men's Basketball Tournament, to be played in Frisco, TX, Conference USA announced Saturday evening.
The Owls (13-12) will face West seventh seed Southern Miss (8-16) in the first round on Tuesday, March 9, at 7 p.m., on ESPN+. (Get ESPN+.) Rice swept the two-game series earlier this year.
This is the third meeting between the two teams in the Conference USA Tournament, with the teams splitting the previous two meetings. USM defeated the Owls, 58-50, in the 2008 first round but Rice earned an 86-75 victory in the 2017 first round.
Rice is 6-14 all-time in the Conference USA Tournament. The Owls are 4-7 in the tournament against the field.
