Arizona State's Tyi Skinner (co-player), TCU's Hailey Van Lith (co-player) and BYU's Delaney Gibb (freshman) collected Big 12 women's basketball hardware for their impacts during the 16th week of the 2024-25 season.
Skinner extended her streak of scoring 20 or more points to three games after putting up a game-high 25 points against then-No. 10 TCU before dropping 22 points in a road victory over BYU. The graduate student scored 13 of her 22 points against the Cougars in the second half while leading the team in assists (6) and steals (4) in the 85-73 overtime win. The guard from Washington D.C. went 8-of-9 from the free throw line against BYU, including a pair of makes with 12 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime. This is Skinner's first Big 12 weekly honor.
Van Lith averaged 18 points, seven rebounds and 5.5 assists per game in TCU's double-digit wins over Arizona State and then-No. 17 West Virginia. The senior finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and seven assists against ASU before netting a game-high 26 points on 8-of-12 shooting to lead TCU to its 71-50 win over the Mountaineers. The victory against WVU helped TCU reach single-season program records for total wins (26), Big 12 wins (14) and home wins (18). It was the fourth time this season and the 13th game of her career scoring 20+ points against a ranked team. This is Van Lith's second Big 12 weekly accolade this season.
Gibb led all league freshmen in scoring and was the second-leading scorer in the Conference for the week with her 20.5 points per game. The guard averaged 7.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.5 steals during the week. Gibb was the game's leading scorer in the Cougars' road contest at Arizona, putting up 16 points on 7-of-15 shooting to go with five assists, four rebounds and two steals. Against Arizona State, the freshman led all scorers with 25 points and four made triples en route to her ninth game with 20 or more points this season. The native of Raymond, Alberta grabbed 11 rebounds, dished seven assists, swiped three steals and recorded a block while tallying her first career double-double. This is Gibb's eighth weekly recognition in the last 10 weeks and her ninth overall Freshman of the Week honor, the second most all-time.
