K-State's Taryn Sides (player) and BYU's Delaney Gibb (freshman) acquired weekly Big 12 women's basketball awards for the 15th week of the 2024-25 season.
Sides helped K-State remain tied for first place in the Conference standings with two victories during the week. Sides came off the bench in both games to average 19 points with a 57.1 field goal percentage, 58.8 three-point percentage, 8.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.0 blocks. Sides tallied her first career double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds in a 90-53 road win over Cincinnati before registering her second 20-point game of the season with 21 points on 7-of-8 shooting, including 6-of-7 from three-point range, in a 97-67 victory over UCF. The 2024 Big 12 Academic All-Rookie Team member added six assists, four rebounds and tied her career-high with four steals and set a career-high with two blocks in 28 minutes off the bench against the Knights to procure her first career weekly league accolade.
Gibb was a catalyst for the Cougars as they knocked off then-No. 20 Oklahoma State 68-64. The Raymond, Alberta, native scored 14 points, including going 7-for-9 from the charity stripe while recording game-highs in rebounds (7) and assists (6). Earlier in the week, Gibb added 14 points with three steals, three rebounds and two assists against then-No. 11 TCU. This is her seventh weekly honor in the last nine weeks and her eighth overall Freshman of the Week recognition, tied with Baylor's Darianna Littlepage-Buggs (2023) for the second most all-time.
