Iowa State's Audi Crooks (player) and Arizona's Lauryn Swann (freshman) acquired Big 12 women's basketball weekly honors for the span of Dec. 23-Jan. 5.
Crooks averaged 31.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in ISU's two games during the week while becoming the Cyclones' 35th 1,000 career point scorer and the fastest ISU player to reach the mark in just 49 career games. The sophomore is the third-fastest Big 12 player who started their career at least in 1999-00 or later to reach 1,000 career points and is one of three active sophomores in the NCAA to have scored 1,000+ points, joining Notre Dame's Hannah Hidalgo and USC's JuJu Watkins.
The Algona, Iowa, native has finished with 20 or more points in each of her last six contests while shooting 65.7% from the floor in that stretch. This is Crooks' second weekly recognition of the season and her fourth Conference Player of the Week nod of her career.
Swann recorded a career-high 22 points against Utah, including hitting five three-pointers. Nineteen of the freshman's points came in the second half to mark her first 20+ point game. The guard then earned her first start against UCF in a 75-53 Wildcat victory where she scored six points and had three steals and two assists. This is Swann's second Freshman of the Week honor this season.
