BYU's Lauren Gustin, Texas' Madison Booker Take Home Big 12 WBB Weekly Awards for Week 15

BYU's Lauren Gustin (co-player) and Texas' Madison Booker (co-player and freshman) were named Big 12 women's basketball weekly award winners for the week ending February 18.

Gustin becomes the first player this season to earn at least a share of Big 12 Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks, averaging 27.5 points and 16.5 rebounds in two games for the Cougars. The senior from Boise, Idaho had 22 points and 15 rebounds in BYU’s 64-60 win at UCF, going 11-of-17 in the contest. Gustin single-handedly kept the Cougars in the game with 33 points and 18 rebounds against Kansas, an eventual 70-62 loss. It marked a career-high for the forward and just the third 33-point, 18-rebound game by a Division I player in the 2023-24 season.

Booker collected her second player of the week nod and her fourth freshman of the week nod, after leading Texas to a pair of victories. The forward from Ridgeland, Mississippi scored 23 points, shooting 9-of-13 from the floor and adding seven rebounds in an 82-66 win at Houston. Booker had a double-double against Iowa State, scoring 18 points with 10 assists in the 81-60 win. She finished the week with averages of 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists.
