Lauren Gustin, Amari Whiting Lead BYU To Sweep Of Big 12 WBB Weekly Awards for Week 14

BYU's Lauren Gustin (player) and Amari Whiting (freshman) swept Big 12 women's basketball weekly awards, following a week where the Cougars picked up a pair of wins, including the program's first AP Top 25 win of the season.

Gustin led the Cougars with a 23-point, 16-rebound performance in the 78-66 win over No. 18 Baylor, going 9-of-14 from the field. The senior from Boise, Idaho, had her 79th double-double at Cincinnati, extending her active career lead with a 21-point, 20-rebound game. It was the third 20-point, 20-rebound for Gustin this season. For the week, Gustin averaged 22.0 points and 18.0 rebounds to become the first BYU women's basketball player to win Big 12 Player of the Week.

Whiting averaged 12.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists to win her first Big 12 weekly award, sending freshman of the week honors to Provo for the third time this season. The guard from Burley, Idaho, flirted with a triple-double against Baylor, scoring 14 points with eight rebounds and nine assists as her mother, BYU Head Coach, Amber Whiting, earned the first AP Top 25 win of her head coaching career. Amari scored 10 points with seven rebounds in the 69-57 win at Cincinnati, BYU's first Big 12 road win.
