Baylor's Jada Walker, Iowa State's Audi Crooks Named Big 12 WBB Week 8 Winners

Baylor's Jada Walker (player) and Iowa State's Audi Crooks (freshman) were selected for Big 12 women's basketball weekly awards for the first week of Conference games.

Walker led the Bears to their second top-five win of the season, and their 14th consecutive win in Austin, defeating then-No. 5 Texas 85-79. The Richmond, Virginia native had a team-high 19 points, adding three rebounds, three assists and four steals while going 8-of-13 from the field. The junior ran point for the Bears for several stretches, maintaining the team's wire-to-wire lead. It is the first career Big 12 honor for Walker; and, the first for a Baylor player this season.

Crooks scored 21 points at Oklahoma State, as the Cyclones opened Big 12 play with a win for the seventh consecutive season. The center from Algona, Iowa added seven rebounds and went 9-of-14 from the field, notching her third career 20+ point game. For the season, Crooks is shooting 67.2 percent from the floor, the best among Division I freshmen. It is the second weekly honor for Crooks in the past three weeks.
