Prairie View A&M Announces 2020-'21 Schedule
POSTED: October 12, 2020 -- 7:06 p.m. CT
Thursday, October 8, Prairie View A&M women's basketball announced its 2020-21 schedule and themes for women's basketball, with the Panthers set to begin play November 25 in a home match versus Talladega.
"This has been a trying time for us all," Head Coach Sandy Pugh said. "Just being able to have the opportunity to play this season is a blessing many didn't think we'd have. We did lose two games based on the new NCAA-mandated earliest start date of November 25; but, the games we have left will make for an interesting 20-21 campaign. We can't wait to start preparations for the year. It's Go Time Panthers!"
The 26-game schedule features a pair of Power 5 opponents and one tournament. Following its game against Talladega, PVAMU takes on Philander Smith on November 28 at 3 p.m. in the Baby Dome.
From there, the Panthers play seven of their next eight games away from friendly confines, starting with a December 2 trip to Colorado. After a week off, Prairie View A&M faces SMU on December 9 and returns home for a December 14 tilt versus North American University. The Panthers wrap up 2020 with an away date at Texas A&M (December 18) and the South Padre Island Tournament, where they take on North Texas (December 18) and Texas-Rio Grande Valley (December 19).
