And then there were four. Baylor (35-1), Notre Dame (34-3), Oregon (33-4), and UConn (35-2) have each earned a trip to the 2019 NCAA Women's Final Four in Tampa Bay, FL, this weekend. All four teams were among the cream of the crop during the 2018-'19 season; and, no one is surprised these teams are in the Final Four.

The Baylor Lady Bears, top overall seed, face the Oregon Ducks Friday, April 5, at 6 p.m. Central Time, in the first semifinal game.

Despite being the number one overall seed, Kim Mulkey, Baylor's Head Coach, doesn't believe her team is the team to beat.

"I'm not sure we're the team to beat," Mulkey said. "I don't think we've been picked to win it. I know we're the No. 1 overall seed, but I'm not sure we're the hunted. I think we're one of four teams that can win it all.

"We happen to be the overall No. 1 seed probably because of the timing of how losses happened late in the year. But we're just happy to get there, to bring players who have never been there, and realize Oregon is an unbelievably talented team.

"I don't know that we're the hunted or the hunter."

Mulkey believes any of the four teams can win this year's national championship -- even if Baylor plays its "A game", i.e., its best basketball this weekend.

"Oh, heavens, yes. We're humble, man," Mulkey said modestly. "There's four teams there that can win a national championship. We don't approach it like, Oh, wow, we're the No. 1 seed, we're supposed to win. According to a lot of people, we're not supposed to win.

"We're going to fight. We're going to claw. We're going to compete. We're going to give it our best shot. I'm sure the other three teams are going to do the same thing."
