Texas Tech's Christian Anderson (player) and Arizona's Brayden Burries (newcomer) earned Big 12 men's basketball weekly awards for the week ending March 1, after leading their squads to 2-0 weeks.

Anderson averaged 22.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists in a pair of wins to capture his third player of the week honor of the season. In the 80-68 win over Cincinnati, Anderson scored 31 points to go along with a career-high 11 rebounds and seven assists. Anderson had 14 points and seven assists as the Red Raiders defeated then-No. 4 Iowa State, 82-73. In the span since the injury to his teammate JT Toppin, Anderson is tied for 10th among all power conference players with 22.0 points per game, to go along with his full-season average of a Big 12-leading 7.7 assists.

Burries led Arizona to at least a share of the Big 12 regular season title by averaging 22.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists. Burries scored 24 points with four assists at Baylor, securing an 87-80 win. Burries followed up with 20 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and no turnovers in the 84-61 win over No. 14 Kansas, which put the Wildcats on the precipice of an outright regular season title. It is his second Big 12 Newcomer of the Week award.

The pair is joined on the Big 12 Starting Five, which honors strong performances across the Conference, by Baylor's Cameron Carr, Cincinnati's Moustapha Thiam and Texas Tech's Donovan Atwell.

Carr scored 26 points in both games this week, including a 20-point first half in the 87-86 win over UCF.

Thiam averaged 22.5 points and 12.5 rebounds, including a 24-point, 15-rebound outing in a 91-68 win over Oklahoma State that boosted the Bearcats' at-large candidacy.

Atwell was 10-of-19 from beyond the arc, while averaging 15.0 points per game in the two Red Raider wins.
