K-State's P.J. Haggerty (player) and Arizona's Koa Peat earned Big 12 men's basketball weekly honors, joined by Arizona's Jaden Bradley, UCF's Jamichael Stillwell and Iowa State's Tamin Lipsey as the league’s Starting Five for Week Three performances.

Haggerty averaged 31.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists during the Wildcats' three contests against Tulsa, Mississippi State and Nebraska. The Crosby, Texas, native opened the week with a 31-point, 10-rebound outing in the 84-83 victory over the Golden Hurricane to become the program's first player since Michael Beasley in 2008 to tally over 30 points and 10 rebounds in a contest. He then posted a game-high 37 points against Mississippi State, leading K-State to its second win of the week. His 27 points in the one-point loss (86-85) to Nebraska extended his streak of scoring 20 points or more to six consecutive games.

Peat earns his second Newcomer of the Week after helping the Wildcats capture their second win over a top-5 team, defeating No. 3 UConn 71-67. The freshman forward registered the first double-double of his collegiate career with 16 points, 12 rebounds and had three assists and two blocks. His stat sheet tabbed him as the fifth freshman from any DI program in the last 25 years to record 15+ points, 12+ rebounds, and 2+ blocks against a top 5-ranked team. Arizona's win marked the program's third win over an AP top 25 team this season, which have all happened away from Tucson.

Bradley led all scorers with 21 points in the top 5 battle between No. 4 Arizona and No. 3 UConn as he surpassed 1,000 career points, while UCF's Stillwell had back-to-back games with a double-double against Oakland and Pittsburgh. ISU's Lipsey earns his second straight selection to the Big 12's Starting Five after scoring 21 points and having zero turnovers against Stonehill.
