Tulane's Jalen Cook, East Carolina's Ezra Ausar Earn Weekly Honors for week ending February 19

The American Athletic Conference announced the winners of the league's weekly men's basketball honors for the fifteenth week of the 2022-23 season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jalen Cook * Sophomore * Guard, Tulane

Cook recorded 30 points, seven assists, five rebounds and four steals in the Green Wave's win over South Florida on Saturday night. The sophomore guard scored 17 of his 30 points in the first half. The win helped propel the Green Wave into second place in The American's standings.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Ezra Ausar * Forward * East Carolina

Ausar averaged 12.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in two games for the Pirates. The forward recorded a double-double in the Pirates' win over Cincinnati on Wednesday with 14 points and 14 rebounds. He also contributed 11 points and four rebounds at SMU on Sunday.

HONOR ROLL

David DeJulius * Graduate * Guard Cincinnati

DeJulius converted the buzzer-beating game-winning shot in a win over UCF on Sunday and averaged 15.5 points and 6.5 assists for the week.

J'Wan Roberts * Redshirt-Junior * Forward * Houston

Roberts averaged 14.0 points and 11.0 rebounds while shooting 71.4 percent from the field as Houston won two games.

Elijah McCadden * Senior * Guard * Memphis

McCadden averaged 18.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in two games for the Tigers, including 20 points at Houston on Sunday.

Zhuric Phelps * Sophomore * Guard * SMU

In two games for the Mustangs, Phelps averaged 18.5 points and 7.5 assists.

Jaykwon Walton * Junior * Guard * Wichita State

Walton recorded 21 points, including 10 points in the Shockers' 21-3 game-ending run to come from behind and defeat Temple on Sunday.
