Tulane's Jalen Cook, Houston's Jarace Walker Earn Weekly Honors for week ending February 5

The American Athletic Conference announced the winners of the league's weekly men's basketball honors for the thirteenth week of the 2022-23 season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jalen Cook * Sophomore * Guard * Tulane

Cook averaged 23.5 points and 3.5 assists while shooting 58.6 percent from the field (17-29) in two Tulane victories last week. The sophomore had 22 points and five assists in Wednesday's win over SMU and recorded 25 points in the Green Wave's overtime victory at Memphis on Saturday.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Jarace Walker * Forward * Houston

Walker averaged 19.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals as the Cougars won two games. The freshman, who shot 63.6 percent from 3-point range (7-11) for the week, recorded 15 points and five rebounds at Wichita State on Thursday before posting 23 points and six rebounds against Temple on Sunday in a battle of The American's top-2 teams.

HONOR ROLL

David DeJulius * Graduate * Guard * Cincinnati

DeJulius averaged 15.0 points and 8.0 assists as the Bearcats won a pair of games.

Brandon Johnson * Sophomore * Forward * East Carolina

Johnson averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals in two games for the Pirates.

DeAndre Williams * Senior * Forward * Memphis

Williams posted a big double-double of 19 points and 17 rebounds against Tulane on Saturday.

Tyler Harris * Senior * Guard * South Florida

Harris recorded 21 points and was 5-of-10 from behind the 3-point line in the Bulls' win over East Carolina on Wednesday.

James Rojas * Senior * Forward * Wichita State

Rojas shot 70.6 percent from the field while averaging 16.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in two games for the Shockers.
