Memphis' Kendric Davis, Temple's Khalif Battle, Houston's Jarace Walker Earn Weekly Honors for week ending January 29

The American Athletic Conference announced the winners of the league's weekly men's basketball honors for the twelfth week of the 2022-23 season.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Kendric Davis * Senior * Guard * Memphis

Davis averaged 25.5 points, 8.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds as the Tigers won two games last week. Against SMU on Thursday, the senior recorded 25 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds, while he posted 26 points, five assists and four rebounds at Tulsa on Sunday.

Khalif Battle * Sophomore * Guard * Temple

Battle averaged 25.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists while propelling the Owls to two overtime wins last week and stay in second place in The American's standings. In overtime sessions against South Florida and at UCF, the sophomore scored 16 of Temple's 24 total points.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Jarace Walker * Forward * Houston

Walker averaged 21.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists to help No. 3 Houston to a pair of victories. He recorded a game-high 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting in the Cougars come-from-behind victory over Cincinnati on Saturday.

HONOR ROLL

Landers Nolley II * Redshirt-Senior *, Guard, Cincinnati

Nolley was 6-of-10 from 3-point range and scored a team-high 24 points at No. 3 Houston on Saturday.

RJ Felton * Sophomore * Guard * East Carolina

Felton averaged 22.5 points in two games for the Pirates, including 23 in a win over Tulsa on Tuesday.

Jamal Shead * Junior * Guard * Houston

Shead averaged 13.5 points, 7.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds in two games for the Cougars, including four points in the final minute against Cincinnati to seal a victory.

Jalen Cook * Sophomore * Guard * Tulane

Cook recorded 20 points, nine rebounds and six assists in a win at Wichita State on Wednesday.

Craig Porter Jr * Senior * Guard * Wichita State

Porter averaged 16.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists in two contests for the Shockers.
