Memphis' Kendric Davis, Tulane's Jaylen Forbes, UCF's Taylor Hendricks Earn Weekly Honors for week ending January 15

The American Athletic Conference announced the winners of the league's weekly men's basketball honors for the tenth week of the 2022-23 season.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Kendric Davis * Senior * Guard * Memphis

Davis averaged 31.0 points, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals in a pair of games for the Tigers. Against UCF on Wednesday, Davis recorded 42 points, one shy of The American's single-game record, while against Temple on Sunday, he scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half and hit a baseline jumper at the buzzer for the win.

Jaylen Forbes * Junior * Guard * Tulane

Forbes averaged 29.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals and led the Green Wave to two wins last week. He scored 31 on Wednesday in a road win at SMU and followed that up with 27 points in win over UCF on Sunday in a battle for second place in The American's standings.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Taylor Hendricks * Forward * UCF

Hendricks averaged 13.5 points and 8.5 rebounds as the Knights went 1-1 last week. He had 12 points and six rebounds in a win over Memphis and recorded a double-double at Tulane with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

HONOR ROLL

C.J. Kelly * Senior * Guard * UCF

Kelly came off the bench for the Knights and averaged 19.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in two games.

Landers Nolley II * Graduate * Guard * Cincinnati

Nolley recorded a pair of double-doubles last week and averaged 18.0 points and 11.0 rebounds in two wins.

Marcus Sasser * Senior * Guard * Houston

Sasser scored a career-high 31 points, along with four assists in the Cougars' win over South Florida on Wednesday.

Tyler Harris * Senior * Guard * South Florida

Harris averaged 27.5 points and 2.5 assists in two games last week, including 31 points at No. 1 Houston.

Jaykwon Walton * Junior * Guard * Wichita State

Walton scored 19 points and was 6-for-9 from the field as the Shockers came from behind to defeat Tulsa on Saturday.
