Holly Kesterson: "We want to be at the table and in the conversation any time that there's a Men's Final Four bid available. No question."
POSTED: April 15, 2022 -- 2:32 p.m. CT
The 2023 NCAA Men's Final Four is coming to Houston, TX. Events such as Friday's arrival of the 2023 Men's Final Four Fan Jam Truck event at Houston's Discovery Green have begun and will continue through April 2023 when Houston's NRG Stadium hosts the basketball games. The semifinal games will be held Saturday, April 1; and, the championship game will take place Monday, April 3.
Holly Kesterson, President of the 2023 NCAA Men’s Final Four Houston Local Organizing Committee and Vice President of Events at Harris County Houston Sports Authority (HCHSA), says the Houston Local Organizing Committee would bid to host future NCAA Men's Final Fours in the city of Houston.
"We want to be at the table and in the conversation any time that there's a Men's Final Four bid available," Kesterson said Friday afternoon. "No question. We love this event in this community. Our community is supportive of it as you see in the turnout at the community events and the public-facing things."
"So, anytime that's available for bids we want to be a part of that conversation," Kesterson continued. "Of course. There's no questions marks there.
"There's a lot of things that go into making a bid and putting a bid forward and deciding to move forward and those are things that you have to work through in that moment and as you go because there's other things that our community wants to see as well.
"Anytime there's a bid cycle, we want to be part of the conversation. We want to put Houston forward and we want Houston to always be known as one of those major sports cities."
