Houston's Marcus Sasser, UCF's Taylor Hendricks Earn Weekly Honors for week ending November 20

The American Athletic Conference announced the winners of the league's weekly men's basketball honors for the second week of the 2022-23 season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marcus Sasser * Senior * Guard * Houston
Sasser led the Cougars to three wins last week by averaging 18.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists. He recorded 19 points and seven rebounds against Oral Roberts on Monday, dropped 20 points and dished out six assists against Texas Southern on Wednesday and scored 16 points on the road at Oregon on Sunday night.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Taylor Hendricks * Guard * UCF
Hendricks averaged 13.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game as UCF went 3-0 for the week, including a title win at the Baha Mar Bahamas Championship. Down in the Bahamas, he recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds in a come-from-behind win against Oklahoma State and scored 19 points in the championship game against Santa Clara.
HONOR ROLL
Brandon Johnson * Sophomore * Forward * East Carolina
Johnson recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds in the Pirates' lone game last week, a win over Hampton.
Kendric Davis * Senior * Guard * Memphis
Davis averaged 22.0 points and 5.5 assists in two games for the Tigers, including a 26-point, 7-assist game against VCU on Sunday.
Damian Dunn * Redshirt-Sophomore * Guard * Temple
Dunn scored 38 points against Vanderbilt on Tuesday night, the most in The American since 2019 and tied for sixth-most in a single game in conference history.
Jalen Cook * Sophomore * Guard * Tulane
In Tulane's lone game last week against Charleston Southern on Wednesday, Cook made his season debut coming off the bench and scoring 23 points in 21 minutes.
Sam Griffin * Junior * Guard * Tulsa
Griffin averaged 17.3 points and shot 40.0 percent from 3-point range (10-25) as the Golden Hurricane played three games at the Myrtle Beach Invitational.
