SMU's Marcus Weathers, Tulane's Jalen Cook and Memphis' Josh Minott Earn Weekly Honors for week ending January 30

The American Athletic Conference announced the winners of the league's weekly men's basketball honors for the week ending January 30.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Marcus Weathers * Senior * Forward * SMU
Weathers led the Mustangs to 7-1 in conference play by averaging 22.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in wins at South Florida on Wednesday, January 26 and against Temple on Saturday, January 29. In the game against the Owls, the senior forward posted 27 points and nine rebounds. For the week, he shot 17-of-23 from the field (73.9 percent).
Jalen Cook * Freshman * Guard * Tulane
Cook has helped lead the Green Wave into third place in the league standings by averaging 23.0 points and 3.5 assists in home wins over Tulsa and Wichita State. The guard was 9-of-16 from 3-point range (56.3 percent) over the two games. He also made the game-winning free throws against Wichita State with six seconds left.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Josh Minott * Forward * Memphis
Minott posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds along with two blocks off the bench in the Tigers' home win over East Carolina on Thursday, January 27. The forward was 5-of-10 from the field.

Weekly Honor Roll
David DeJulius * Senior * Guard * Cincinnati
DeJulius averaged 14.5 points and 4.0 rebounds as the Bearcats split a pair of games last week. Against East Carolina on Sunday, he grabbed a rebound off his own missed and scored the game-winning shot with three seconds left.
Josh Carlton * Graduate * Center * Houston
Carlton posted a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds in the Cougars' away win over UCF.
Damian Dunn * Sophomore * Guard * Temple
Dunn averaged 17.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Owls. He made the game-winning bucket against Cincinnati on Tuesday, January 25.
Sam Griffin * Sophomore * Guard * Tulsa
Griffin scored 21 points in both of Tulsa's games last week against Tulane on Wednesday and South Florida on Saturday.
Ricky Council IV * Freshman * Guard * Wichita State
Council averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in a 1-1 week for the Shockers. He scored a career-high 31 points off the bench in Wichita State's win over UCF on Wednesday.
