Houston's Josh Carlton, Temple's Damian Dunn and Jahlil White Earn Weekly Honors for week ending January 9

The American Athletic Conference announced the winners of the league's weekly men's basketball honors for the week ending January 9.
CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Josh Carlton * Graduate Senior * Center * Houston
Carlton was instrumental in a pair of Cougar wins, averaging a double-double with 26.0 points and 11.5 rebounds. Against South Florida on Wednesday, Jan. 5, the forward had a career-high 30 points along with 11 rebounds, while against Wichita State on Saturday, Jan. 8, he posted 22 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks.
Damian Dunn * Redshirt-Freshman * Guard * Temple
Dunn propelled the Owls to two wins last week, hitting the game-winning 3-pointer in each game while averaging 24.5 points. On Wednesday on the road at UCF, he scored 16 points, hit a 3-pointer with seven seconds left to give the Owls the lead and added a pair of game-clinching free throws. Against East Carolina on Sunday, Dunn scored a career-high 33 points, including the buzzer-beating 3-pointer to win the game.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Jahlil White * Guard * Temple
White averaged 13 points and 5.5 rebounds in a pair of Temple wins. The freshman guard scored a season-high 17 points on the road at UCF and posted nine points, six rebounds and three assists in a home win against East Carolina.

Weekly Honor Roll
David DeJulius * Senior * Guard * Cincinnati
DeJulius led the Bearcats in a 1-1 week by averaging 18.5 points and 6.0 assists, including a game-high 22 points in a win over SMU on Thursday, January 6.
Tristen Newton * Sophomore * Guard * East Carolina
Newton averaged 20.0 points, 6.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Pirates. In an overtime win over Tulane, the guard recorded a career-high 32 points, including 28 points after halftime and 14 in the extra session.
Josh Minott * Forward * Memphis
Minott averaged a double-double with 10.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Tigers, including 14 points and 10 rebounds against Cincinnati.
Kevin Cross * Sophomore * Forward * Tulane
Cross averaged 17.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Green Wave. He had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds at East Carolina.
Sam Griffin * Sophomore * Guard * Tulsa
Griffin scored 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting and had five 3-pointers against Memphis on Tuesday, January 4.
