Tulane's Jalen Cook, Memphis' Josh Minott Earn Weekly Honors for week ending January 2

The American Athletic Conference announced the winners of the league's weekly men's basketball honors for the week ending January 2.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jalen Cook * Freshman * Guard * Tulane
Cook led the Green Wave to league wins over Memphis and on the road at Cincinnati by averaging 22.5 points while committing zero turnovers. Cook shot 50.0 percent from the field (15-30) and 63.6 percent from behind the arc (7-11).
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Josh Minott * F * Memphis
Minott averaged 11.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in only 20.0 minutes in a 1-1 week for the Tigers. The forward posted a season-high 15 points in Memphis' 18-point road win at Wichita State on Saturday, January 1.

Mahan averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in a 1-1 week for the Knights. The senior guard hit five 3-pointers on the way to a 26-point performance in UCF's 14-point win over Michigan on Thursday, December 30.
Jeremiah Davenport * Junior * Guard * Cincinnati
Davenport posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds against Tulane on Saturday.
Fabian White Jr * Graduate Senior * Forward * Houston
White recorded 15 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks as the Cougars won on the road at Temple on Sunday, January 2.
Landers Nolley II * Redshirt-Junior * Guard * Memphis
Nolley averaged 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in a 1-1 week for the Tigers.
Kendric Davis * Senior * Guard * SMU
Davis led SMU to a 2-0 week by averaging 23.0 points, 5.5 assists and 6.0 rebounds for the Mustangs.
