Wichita State's Tyson Etienne, UCF's Isaiah Adams Earn AAC Men's Basketball Weekly Awards for week ending February 21

The American Athletic Conference announced the winners of the league's weekly men's basketball honors for the 14th week of the 2020-21 season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tyson Etienne * Sophomore * Guard * Wichita State

Etienne led Wichita state to a 68-63 win over then-No. 6 Houston on February 18 and vaulted the Shockers into first place in The American standings. The sophomore guard had a team-high 16 points and added three assists.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Isaiah Adams * Guard * UCF

Adams helped lead the Knights to a pair of wins after averaging 18.5 points and 3.0 assists last week. He shot 81.3 percent from the field last week and posted 26 points in a win at Tulane on February 20.

Weekly Honor Roll

Darius Perry * Senior * Guard * UCF

Perry averaged 17.0 points, 5.5 assists and 1.5 steals in a 2-0 week for UCF. The senior guard shot 64.3 percent from 3-point range.

Quentin Grimes * Junior * Guard Houston

Grimes averaged 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in a 1-1 week for the Cougars. He had 20 points and eight rebounds in a win over Cincinnati on Feb. 21.

Jaylen Forbes * Sophomore * Guard * Tulane

Forbes posted 30 points, five rebounds and five steals for the Green Wave against UCF on February 20.

Khalif Battle * Sophomore * Guard * Temple

Battle averaged 26.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in a pair of games for the Owls last week.

Elijah Joiner * Senior * Guard * Tulsa

Joiner posted 17 points, three assists and a steal in a win over Temple on February 16.
