UCF sweeps AAC Men's Basketball Weekly Honors for week ending December 20

The American Athletic Conference announced the winners of the league's weekly men's basketball honors for Week 4 of the 2020-21 season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Brandon Mahan * Senior * Guard * UCF

Mahan led the Knights with a career-high 32 points, including 24 in the second, in an 86-74 road win at then-No. 15 Florida State on December 19. The senior guard was 10-of-13 from the field and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Mahan also added six rebounds and two assists.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Isaiah Adams * Forward * UCF

Adams registered a season-high 22 points against then-No. 15 Florida State on Dec. 19. In his first career start, the forward was 9-of-12 from the line, grabbed a season-high eight rebounds and added three steals and two assists.

Weekly Honor Roll

Quentin Grimes * Junior * Guard * Houston

Grimes posted a double-double with a season-high 27 points and 10 rebounds in an 88-55 win over Alcorn State on December 20. Grimes hit four 3-pointers and added a pair of steals.

Lester Quinones * Sophomore * Guard * Memphis

Quinones led the Tigers with 20 points, six rebounds and three steals in an 80-74 conference win at Tulane on December 16.

Alexis Yetna * Junior * Forward * USF

Yetna recorded his first double-double of the season and led the Bulls with 16 points, 12 rebounds and three assists in a 74-71 conference win at Cincinnati on December 16.

Kendric Davis * Junior * Guard * SMU

Davis helped lead the Mustangs to a 70-55 conference win against East Carolina with 17 points, six assists and three rebounds on December 16.

Ricky Council IV * Freshman * Guard * Wichita State

Council had a pair of 13-point, 8-rebound games in a 2-0 week for the Shockers, which included wins at Tulsa on December 15 and against Emporia State on December 18.
