Wichita State's Erik Stevenson, Houston's Caleb Mills Earn AAC Men's Basketball Weekly Awards for Week 6 of 2019-'20 Season

The American Athletic Conference announced the men's basketball weekly honors for week ending December 15.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Erik Stevenson, Sophomore, Guard, Wichita State

Stevenson recorded 16 points, seven rebounds, two blocks and a steal in the Shockers’ 80-75 win against (-/rv) Oklahoma. The sophomore guard was 4-of-7 from 3-point range in aiding Wichita State to its third consecutive win.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Caleb Mills, Guard, Houston

Mills averaged 20.0 points and 2.5 rebounds while the Cougars went 1-1 last week. The redshirt freshman scored 23 points against (-/rv) Oklahoma State on Sunday after posting 17 points in a 71-63 win over UT Arlington on Wednesday.

Weekly Honor Roll

Collin Smith, Redshirt-Junior, Forward, UCF

Smith averaged 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds as the Knights defeated Green Bay, 79-66, and Sacred Heart, 76-65.

Jayden Gardner, Sophomore, Forward, ECU

Gardner posted 22 points, six rebounds and a season-high four assists in a 79-69 win for the Pirates against Campbell.

Nate Hinton, Sophomore, Guard, Houston

Hinton averaged 18.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in two games last week. He had 25 points and 10 rebounds in a win over UT Arlington.

David Collins, Junior, Guard, USF

Collins led USF to an 81-61 win over Drexel with 23 points, five rebounds and three steals. He surpassed 1,000 career points in the contest.

Jake Forrester, Sophomore, Forward, Temple

Forrester had his best game for Temple, recording a career-high 17 points on 8-of-8 shooting in the Owls’ 108-61 win over Saint Joseph's.
