Coogs host Dallas Baptist November 1 in Exhibition Game
September 11, 2018
The University of Houston Men's Basketball program will begin its 2018-19 season when it plays host to Dallas Baptist in an exhibition game, on November 1, inside H&PE Arena, on the campus of Texas Southern.
It will be the first of 21 home games for the Cougars in the city of Houston. The Cougars will play four regular-season home games inside H&PE Arena, starting November 10, against Alabama A&M, in the first meeting between the two schools.
Houston, which advanced to the NCAA Tournament Second Round a year ago under the leadership of American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year Kelvin Sampson, ushers in a new era with the opening of the $60-million Fertitta Center against Pac-12 power Oregon on December 1.
Dallas Baptist finished 26-6 in the Heartland Conference in 2017-18 and captured the Heartland Conference Tournament championship. The Patriots advanced to the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament before falling 87-82 to No. 22 Regis.
