Houston's Robinson, Jr. and Temple's Alston, Jr. share AAC Top Weekly Honor

The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly men's basketball honors for the sixth week of the men's college basketball season.
CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Galen Robinson, Jr. - Houston - Senior - Guard - Houston, TX
Robinson, Jr. led the Cougars to home wins against LSU and Saint Louis last week for the program’s second 10-0 start in school history and first since 1967-68. The senior paced the Cougars in scoring (15.5 ppg), field goal percentage (52.0) and assists (4.5 apg) and tied for second on the team with 2.0 steals per game. Against LSU, he tied for game-high honors with 18 points, thanks to 7-of-15 shooting from the field. He also added five rebounds and led all players with six assists and only two turnovers. He finished with 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field against Saint Louis and chipped in three boards, three assists and a pair of steals.
Shizz Alston, Jr. - Temple - Senior - Guard - Philadelphia, PA
Alston, Jr. averaged 27.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.5 steals in 2-0 week for the Owls which featured wins over UMass and rv/- Davidson. The senior scored a career-high 31 points and made a steal in the final seconds to secure the 65-63 win over UMass. He followed up the performance with a double-double on 24 points, and a career-high 11 assists (to just one turnover), and was named Air Force Reserve Boardwalk Classic Player of the Game as Temple defeated Davidson, 77-75, in OT. Alston, Jr., shot 18-of-33 from the field, 7-of-17 from 3-point range and 12-14 at the free throw line for the week.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Alexis Yetna - USF - F - Paris, France
Yetna scored 13 points and grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds, the most by an American player this season, in a win over Appalachian State. He also collected his league-leading fourth double-double of the season. The redshirt-freshman added two assists and one steal. After Appalachian State tied the game early in the second half, Yetna scored back-to-back buckets for the Bulls to push the lead to four points and gave USF a lead it would never relinquish. USF improved to 7-2 for the first time since the 2013-14 season.
HONOR ROLL
Kyvon Davenport – Memphis – Senior – Forward
Career-high 31 points and 11 rebounds in loss to No. 3 Tennessee. It was his 11th double-double of his career and third of the season. Had career-highs with 12 field goals made, eight offensive rebounds and four 3-pointers.
Jaime Echenique – Wichita State – Sophomore – Forward / Center
Averaged 14.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks on 70-percent shooting in a 2-0 week. Second double-double of the year in win over Southern Miss with a career-high 17 points and 11 boards.
DaQuan Jeffries – Tulsa – Senior – Guard / Forward
Averaged 18 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 assists in wins over New Orleans and Dayton last week. Double-double with 20 points and a career-high 13 rebounds against New Orleans. Scored 16 points and six rebounds in win over Dayton.
Isiaha Mike – SMU – Sophomore – Forward
Scored 17 points and had a season and game high with nine rebounds as the Mustangs went to D.C. and defeated Georgetown, 81-73. Went 9-of-13 from the line and had four assists, a steal and a block.
B.J. Taylor - UCF - Senior - Guard
Averaged 22.5 points, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steal in a 2-0 week. Had a career-high and American season-best 35 points, including tying a career-best with six threes, in win over Georgia Southern.
