Cincinnati's Cumberland, Houston's Alley Jr Earn AAC Top Weekly Honors

The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly men's basketball honors for the third week of the men's college basketball season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jarron Cumberland - Cincinnati - Junior - Guard - Wilmington, OH
Cumberland has now led Cincinnati to a five-game win streak as the Bearcats went 3-0 last week with victories over Western Kentucky (78-52), George Mason (71-55) and Ole Miss (71-57). He was named Emerald Coast Classic Tournament MVP as he paced Cincinnati to wins against the Patriots and Rebels in Niceville, FL. Cumberland scored a game-high 25 points against Ole Miss and tied a career-high with 27 points against Western Kentucky.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Cedrick Alley, Jr. - Houston - Forward - Houston, TX
Alley, Jr. averaged 12.0 points and 7.0 rebounds to help Cougars to two wins and the Men Against Breast Cancer Cougar Cup Championship. The redshirt-freshman was an all-tournament team selection as he had career highs with 19 points, seven field goals, five 3-pointers and six assists in road win at BYU. Houston was also victorious early in the week with an 82-55 win over Northwestern State.

Averaged 19.0 points and 3.0 rebounds as he shot 65.4 percent (17-of-26) in a 2-0 week.
Corey Davis, Jr. - Houston - Senior - G
Men Against Breast Cancer Tournament MVP; averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals; shot 56-percent from field and 46.2-percent from deep.
Jayden Gardner - ECU - Freshman - Forward
Averaged 20.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and shot 75-percent from the field, 79.2-percent from line in 2-1 week; 17 boards against PVAMU tied league high.
Jahmal McMurray - SMU - Senior - Guard
Selected to the Cancun Challenge all-tournament team with an event record 98 points over four games.
Nate Pierre-Louis - Temple - Sophomore - Guard
Named to Legends Classic all-tournament team; 9 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals in win over Cal; 11 points, 8 rebounds, 6 steals vs. VCU.
