Houston Cougars seniors Breaon Brady, Corey Davis, Jr. and Galen Robinson, Jr. attended the 2018 American Athletic Conference Basketball Media Day in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Media Day is an annual opportunity for coaches and selected players to speak with the media to discuss the upcoming season and reflect on the previous season.

Each of them discussed how practice has been thus far this month. Each one of them used the same word: intense.

"Intense. But, every practice is intense," Robinson, Jr. said first. "We're really getting after it. We've got a couple of guys, like Coach says, a couple of little injuries.

"It's been some good work," Robinson, Jr continued. "Every practice we have we take a little step forward. I feel like if we didn't take that step forward it would be pointless."

"It's really intense," Davis, Jr. acknowledged. "Working hard. Putting some long hours in. We're definitely trying to get that chemistry going. We've got the season right around the corner. We've got a good group. It's going to be very tough; so, our chemistry is where we're focusing at this point."

"Practice has been intense. And, I love it because intensity make us better," smiled Brady. "The more intense practice is the better we get. The more we can handle adversity. It's just a process. It's a slow grind; but, we're getting there."

Brady also mentioned how the 2018-'19 team will differ from the 2017-'18 team.

"The difference is the scoring comes from all over," Brady commented. "Coach (Head Coach Kelvin Sampson) Sampson says it all the time: 'We have plenty of guys that can go out there and score 15 a game.' This team is all around. We're longer. It's going to be a different atmosphere this year."
