Rockets Exercise Team Option for JD Davison

The Houston Rockets today announced they have exercised JD Davison's team option for the 2026-27 NBA season.

Davison was originally the 53rd overall pick by Boston in the 2022 NBA Draft following his freshman season at Alabama. He spent his first three seasons with the Celtics before signing a two-way deal with Houston on July 26, 2025. Davison was converted to a standard contract on April 7, 2026.
In 28 games played for the Rockets last season, Davison averaged 11.4 points, 5.8 assists and 5.6 rebounds per 36 minutes played. He had an assist-to-turnover ratio of 5.00 and nearly recorded as many steals as turnovers.
Davison also appeared in seven games for Rio Grande Valley while transferred to the G League last season, averaging 25.3 points, 7.9 assists, 6.1 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.3 blocks. He was named G League MVP in 2024-25.
