Monday afternoon, the NBA announced that Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green was named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played from Monday, March 24 through Sunday, March 30 (Week 23). It is his second time winning the award this season (Week 13 from 1/13-1/19) and the third time in his career (3/11-3/17/24). Green is the first Rocket to win the award multiple times in the same season since James Harden in early 2019-20.

The Rockets went 3-0 for the week, while outscoring opponents by an average of 19.0 points. In those games, Green averaged 28.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 50.8% from the floor and 40.9% from 3-point range.

Green topped 6,000 career points vs. Atlanta on March 25, reached 1,000 assists at Utah on March 27 and played his 300th game at Phoenix on 3/30. Dating back to 2000-01, he became the 10th player to have recorded at least 6,000 points, 1,200 rebounds and 1,000 assists through the first 300 games of a career (Gilbert Arenas, Luka Doncic, Anthony Edwards, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Blake Griffin, LeBron James, Donovan Mitchell, Ja Morant, Dwyane Wade).

Houston has won 12 of its past 13 games and is currently second in the Western Conference standings. The Rockets are on the verge of clinching their first playoff spot since 2019-20 and need one more win to reach 50 for the season.

Green has started 179 consecutive games, including all 75 this season. Post All-Star break, he is averaging 22.8 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 4.7 apg and 3.3 threes made per game. The Rockets are 12-1 when Green scores 30-plus points this season.

The 23-year-old is one of six players in NBA history to have at least 6,000 points and 750 3-pointers made through the first 300 games of a career (Doncic, Edwards, Damian Lillard, Mitchell, Trae Young).
