Posted: July 25, 2024 -- 6:15 p.m. CT
The Houston Rockets announced they have signed forward Jack McVeigh to a two-way contract. McVeigh is currently preparing to compete for Australia in the 2024 Paris Olympics alongside Rockets center Jock Landale.
McVeigh (6'7", 205) was eligible for the 2019 NBA Draft. Following his junior season at Nebraska in 2017-18, McVeigh joined the Adelaide 36ers in Australia's National Basketball League (NBL).
Last season, McVeigh helped Tasmania win the NBL championship and was named Grand Final MVP. He hit a 3-pointer just inside half court to win Game 3 of the Finals. In a combined 37 season and playoff games, McVeigh averaged 17.3 points while shooting 52.1% from the floor, 39.8% from 3-point range and 84.2% from the foul line.
In the NBA, a Two-Way contract is a contract that allows players to suit up for both an NBA team and that team's NBA G League affiliate. Each team is allowed to have a maximum of three players on Two-Way deals at the same time.
Two-Way contracts are available to players with up to three years of NBA experience. Players on Two-Way contracts are also limited to a maximum of 50 games with their NBA team.
