Earlier today, the Houston Rockets joined Reliant as they presented a $50,000 donation to the Houston Area Urban League (HAUL) to support ongoing recovery efforts following Winter Storm Uri. The presentation took place at HAUL's headquarters in downtown Houston.
Today's donation will allow HAUL to serve more than 100 additional families through its disaster relief response program, "Operation Safe Houston," which was established following the storm. Support includes rent relief, home repairs, food replacement, furniture loss, and other emergency needs.
In addition to today's donation, Reliant and its parent company NRG Energy, Inc. made a commitment to donate $4 million to Texas communities in order to address food and water shortages, temporary or damaged housing, and overall recovery efforts.
