Rockets agree to deal to acquire Russell Westbrook from OKC for Chris Paul

The Houston Rockets have agreed to trade guard Chris Paul, two protected first-round picks (2024 and 2026) and two pick swaps (2021 and 2025) to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchanger for guard Russell Westbrook. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski was the first person to report the trade.
The trade reunites Westbrook with James Harden. Harden and Westbrook were teammates in OKC from 2009 to 2012.
James Harden was a driving force in this deal, I’m told. Russell Westbrook and Harden decides they wanted to reunite and Rockets made it happen despite some questions about fit now that Harden is so ball dominant. Houston believes ceiling is higher with Russ than CP3.

Chris Paul, 34, has 3 years, $124.1 M remaining on his contract. Westbrook, 30 (31 in November), has 4 years, $171.2 M left on his contract.

2020-21: $41.4M
2021-22: $44.2M
But Westbrook is owed $47.1M for 2022-23.
