Marqu'es Webb has joined the Houston Cougars Women's Basketball staff as an assistant coach, Head Coach Matthew Mitchell announced Tuesday.

"I am thrilled to add Marqu'es to our staff at Houston," Mitchell said. "I watched her as a high school player and coached against her in the SEC and admire her approach to the game and competition. We aspire to build a championship program at Houston and will accomplish that with championship people like Marqu'es. She possesses championship talent, skill and energy. She will make a positive impact on Houston Women's Basketball."

Webb arrives at Houston with Big 12 Conference experience following a two-year stint at Kansas. During the 2024-25 season, Webb helped guide S'Mya Nichols to All-Big 12 First Team honors and a WBCA All-America Honorable Mention recognition. The Jayhawks also earned a Big 12 All-Freshman Team honor for Regan Williams and an Honorable Mention nod for Elle Evans.

In her first season at Kansas, Webb and the Jayhawks reached the NCAA Tournament Second Round and finished the 2023-24 season with a record of 20-13. Kansas had three wins over Top 25 opponents and two wins over Top 10 opponents.

The Jayhawks were led by four All-Big 12 honorees, including First Team selections Taiyanna Jackson and S'Mya Nichols, along with Holly Kersgieter and Zakiyah Franklin, who earned honorable mention. Jackson was also named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team for the third time and earned WBCA All-America Honorable Mention for the second-straight season. Following the season, Jackson was the 19th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft when she was picked by the Connecticut Sun.

From 2021-23, Webb served as an assistant coach at Mercer. In her first season, Webb helped Mercer to a 23-7 record and the 2022 Southern Conference Championship. The Bears won the regular season and tournament crowns to advance to the NCAA Tournament. Webb worked primarily with the Bears' post players and coached nine players who earned All-SoCon honors, including two Defensive Players of the Year.

Before Mercer, Webb spent two seasons on staff at her alma mater Vanderbilt, working as an assistant coach during the 2020-21 season after serving as the director of player development the year prior. She returned to Vanderbilt after playing two years professionally overseas in the Czech Republic for BK Zabiny Brno.
