Tuesday afternoon, Amy Tilley was announced as the University of Houston Women's Basketball's chief of staff.
"Amy's extensive knowledge of the game, exceptional organizational skills and dedication to excellence align perfectly with our program's core values," Matthew Mitchell, Head Coach of UH Women's Basketball said. "Her understanding of what we are trying to accomplish for our players each and every day is unmatched. Having her help lead our program gives me great confidence in our program's future. Her belief in our guiding principles will have a tremendous impact on our success — both on and off the court. We are well-positioned to achieve at the highest level with Amy as a part of our program."
Tilley reunites with Mitchell after spending 15 seasons at Kentucky in various roles, most recently as assistant athletic director and women's basketball director of operations from 2014 to 2024.
Tilley's responsibilities at Kentucky included overseeing team travel and scheduling, managing the program's budget, coordinating facility use, supervising all non-coaching staff and student-managers, directing the team's Nike account and leading special event operations. She played a critical role in the day-to-day operations and long-term planning for the program.
Before her promotion to assistant athletic director in May 2014, Tilley served as director of basketball relations and recruiting operations for three years.
