Wednesday morning, the Houston Cougars Women's Basketball program announced its non-conference schedule for the 2022-23 season. The schedule features two road games to open the campaign, a pair of Power 5 opponents in Fertitta Center and a Thanksgiving feast in St. Petersburg, FL, at the St. Pete Showcase.

The Coogs begin the 2022-23 season on the road with games at Louisiana (November 7) and New Mexico (November 12) before a pair of home games against Texas A&M Commerce (November 15) and Florida State (November 19). Although Houston and Texas A&M Commerce met in an exhibition game in 2021-22, the meeting will mark the first official matchup since 1976.

For the fourth straight year, Houston will compete away from Texas in a Thanksgiving tournament with the Cougars taking on Portland (November 24) and Florida (November 26) at the St. Pete Showcase in St. Petersburg, FL.

Houston takes on UT Arlington (December 1) for the second consecutive season, this time at home in Fertitta Center.

A trip to Manhattan, KS., to take on future Big 12 Conference foe Kansas State (December 4) will split three straight games in the city of Houston. The meeting will mark the second meeting between the Wildcats and Cougars and the first since 1977. The Cougars host UMBC (December 7) before heading down I-69 to take on Rice (December 10) in the first meeting between the two schools since 2015.

Houston concludes the away non-conference slate at Middle Tennessee (December 14) before two home games in three days against UTSA (December 19) and Washington State (December 21).

The Coogs ended the season with a NET ranking of 77. Here are the end of season NET rankings (as of April 3, 2022) for Houston's 2022-23 non-conference opponents:
