University of Houston Board of Regents Approves to move forward with process to join the Big 12

The University of Houston Board of Regents called a special meeting today. One of the items on the agenda was to move forward with the process of joining the Big 12 conference.
The item is listed on the agenda as:
Tilman J. Fertitta, chairman of the board of regents of the University of Houston System, called the meeting to order at 11 a.m.
Mr. Raymond Bartlett, Senior Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, presented the item (begins at 52:45 mark of this link of the entire session):

A motion was requested to approve the approval as read. The motion was seconded and the approval was unanimous.

The Big 12's presidents are expected to vote -- in the affirmative -- on conference expansion regarding the additions of BYU, Cincinnati, UCF, and Houston, this Friday, September 10.
