Ca'Leyah Burrell announces commitment to Houston Cougars

Thursday evening, March 25, Ca'Leyah Burrell, 5'9", announced her commitment to Head Coach Ronald Hughey and the University of Houston's women's basketball program.

After graduating from Midway High School in Waco, TX, Burrell attended Jacksonville Junior College in Jacksonville, TX, the last 2 seasons.
Burrell averaged 16.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game (32.0 fg%, 31.6 3pt%, 81.5 ft%) for Jacksonville in 2019-'20. She averaged 9.8 points and 2.7 rebounds per game (28.0 fg%, 30.0 3p%, 76.1 ft%) in 2018-'2019.
Burrell will have two seasons of eligibility remaining for Houston.
Burrell's commitment gives the Coogs 14 players for the 2020-21 season :
Returning players -- Julia Blackshell-Fair, 5'10"; Dymond Gladney, 5'3"; Tatyana Hill, 6'2"; Maya Jones, 6'2"; Jazmaine Lewis, 6'5"; and Bria Patterson, 6'0".
Incoming transfers who sat out the 2019-'20 season -- Miya Crump, 6'0", from Lamar; Paris Netherly, 6'0", from FIU; Britney Onyeje, 5'10", from UCF; and Eryka Sidney, 5'6", from Texas Tech.
Junior college -- Ca'Leyah Burrell, 5'9".
Incoming freshmen -- Laila Blair, 5'9", Waller HS; Kamryn Jones, 6'2", Magnolia West HS; and Tae'lor Purvis, 5'9", Hightower HS.
