Buchanan not quite ready to name new assistant coach

May 26, Houston Cougars head coach Todd Buchanan stated his ideal date to name a new assistant coach / recruiting coordinator was June 15.

The Houston Roundball Review has learned Buchanan will not make an announcement today. However, Buchanan is very close to making a decision. Buchanan's timetable has been pushed back to "the end of next week": most likely, Friday, June 24.

Buchanan has narrowed his list of candidates to three.

The recruiting coordinator / assistant coach position became available when Tari Cummings decided to take an assistant coaching position at the University of Arkansas. Cummings joined Arkansas' staff on May 11.
